Memorial Day 2011 Camping Trip

Even with baby Jackson in the picture we still decided to go camping for Memorial Day weekend. We stayed local....traveling less than 5 miles up the road to camp, which made it nice for the adults to run home to shower or grab the food out of the refrigerator. It also made it possible for me to go home as necessary with the baby who didn't want to sleep in the porta crib.
But we had a great time....especially the kids. A couple other families from church joined us and the kids had so much fun riding their bikes up and down the road. And even more people gathered for a campfire the 2nd night.

We put the kids right to work collecting firewood...perhaps we should have been more specific about how big the logs should be....but they were troopers.
Teamwork....

And Faith brings up the rear....

Playing at the playground close by.

For a craft we made edible campfires....Carson loved the fact that it was edible!

And Madison enjoys showing off her work.....doesn't she look so grown up in this picture?

More of the site...

Our sleeping space....yes, we do all fit in there...one portacrib, 2 twin air mattresses, 1 queen air mattress, lots of pillows and blankets, and 6 individuals!

As soon as I acquire more pictures from others that took them I will add to here....

Spring Soccer for the Boys

I signed the boys up for a Friday morning soccer class while Madison was in preschool. Unfortuneately most days were cool and I was stuck in the van with Jackson while the boys "participated" in the class. I use that term lightly because for the most part I paid $180 for the two of them to chase one another and wrestle each other to the ground....money well spent! But on the last day I was able to capture some shots of them doing what they were instructed to do...for the most part.
Before the last class begins...

Carson, watch where you're going....

Carson with some high kicks.

Huddled around their British coach.

Playing a "simon says" sort of game...

Yes, there was one girl in the group....and she was a tough little cookie!

More Jackson....4 1/2 months

Jackson continues to be a very content and happy baby at 4+ months. He enjoys laying on his activity mat reaching for the hanging toys and kicking his feet around.
And his smiles let you know just how happy he is.

Here he is posing at 4 1/2 months in a 6 month outfit that's nearly too small. /sigh/

And Carson continues to adore his baby brother more than ever. He can never get enough squeezes and hugs in. And Jackson is usually okay with it all.

One of his first times in the super saucer....seems to enjoy it.
And a precious video of Carson and Jackson....Jackson is attempting to nurse while Carson sings a song to him.

Madison's Spring Sing

Madison also looking wonderful for her Spring Sing at preschool.....matching the flowers so well.
Sitting with one of her friends from class.

Posing with Mrs. Crapo, the assistant teacher.

And with Mrs. Mullett, her teacher.

What a great year she had at Pre-K!

More Jackson....4 months

One night before bedtime, we laid Jackson next to each of his siblings for a brief "good night" visit. He looks scared here with Jason....
And still maybe a little scared of getting squeezed to death by Carson.

And maybe a little more relaxed with Madison.

Then we took him downstairs and gave him his first cereal...which he enjoyed while making a mess!

Carson's Spring Sing

At the end of preschool there were 2 spring sings....one for the 3 year old classes and one for the pre-K classes. Carson loves getting all dressed up so it was no problem getting him to wear his "Easter" suit for the occasion!
He was all smiles coming into the sanctuary.

And still all smiles once seated on the stage. I was so happy to see him up front as I was able to get some great videos of him singing.

And here are the videos....

Mother's Day 2011

Church days are a little crazy trying to get everyone ready and out the door so we captured a mother's day picture right after church.
Then later after a little rest time we headed to Great Falls Park....a favorite place. I used to hike there all the time and Matt and I spent a lot of time hiking there before we got married. But on this day we just went for a short walk to see the rushing water of the Potomac.

Playing in the rock cut-outs and enjoying a snack.

Mom and all the little ones! I'm so blessed.

A little climbing for the kiddos.
