Adventure in DC.

Jodi and the littlest Huberts finally arrived in Maryland Friday evening. After some play time with the cousins we all headed to bed. The next morning a few of the littlest enjoyed some snuggle time on the couch before beginning our adventure into DC!
Four of the five kids hanging out with the stroller in the metro parking lot as we off load everything necessary from the van.
Tickets purchased and we are finally on the metro enjoying our ride into DC.

Cousins enjoying some time together.

After a long metro ride and a long walk from the metro station the kids are ready to have a drink and eat some food. It was only 11 or so and they pretty much ate everything we brought!

A little group shot in front of the Washington Monument...our destination as we were planning on meeting Mom and Dad there for a trip to the top! Some of them weren't too enthused about the group picture.

At the top of the monument peering out of one of the many windows.

One of the many views from the top....you can see the white house in this one.

And a large group shot in front of the Monument.

After the kids had a little lunch they played in the grassy area of the mall while we reloaded the stroller and got ready for our walk. Here's a little video of their version of Ring around the Rosy!

Family Arrives in Maryland

On June 3rd, part of my family arrived in Maryland...Mom and Dad and my 3 oldest nieces, Allie, Sarah, and Lindsay. We met up at Sam's Club and shopped for all the food we might need for the week.
Jackson snoozing in the car while we shop in Sam's (don't worry, dad was out there with him).
Mom can't hug Jackson enough....neither can Carson!

Some play time on the deck with the polly pockets roller coaster.

Getting ready to go for a walk....

Even the big kids need some play time at the park after their long car ride!

Now on to lego building....

And so that's how we spent our time waiting for the rest of the family to arrive....Jodi, Timothy, and Savannah!

Random...End of May 2011

Some random pictures....

Jackson is ready for the picture...Carson isn't...
Now Carson is ready....where's that big smile, Jackson?

Jackson fell asleep on his activity mat....I covered him up with a blanket....and Target quickly found a place to be cozy as well.

I can't imagine either of them slept very long if the other kids were anywhere in the house....

Memorial Day 2011 Camping Trip

Even with baby Jackson in the picture we still decided to go camping for Memorial Day weekend. We stayed local....traveling less than 5 miles up the road to camp, which made it nice for the adults to run home to shower or grab the food out of the refrigerator. It also made it possible for me to go home as necessary with the baby who didn't want to sleep in the porta crib.
But we had a great time....especially the kids. A couple other families from church joined us and the kids had so much fun riding their bikes up and down the road. And even more people gathered for a campfire the 2nd night.

We put the kids right to work collecting firewood...perhaps we should have been more specific about how big the logs should be....but they were troopers.
Teamwork....

And Faith brings up the rear....

Playing at the playground close by.

For a craft we made edible campfires....Carson loved the fact that it was edible!

And Madison enjoys showing off her work.....doesn't she look so grown up in this picture?

Our site.....

More of the site...

Our sleeping space....yes, we do all fit in there...one portacrib, 2 twin air mattresses, 1 queen air mattress, lots of pillows and blankets, and 6 individuals!

As soon as I acquire more pictures from others that took them I will add to here....

Spring Soccer for the Boys

I signed the boys up for a Friday morning soccer class while Madison was in preschool. Unfortuneately most days were cool and I was stuck in the van with Jackson while the boys "participated" in the class. I use that term lightly because for the most part I paid $180 for the two of them to chase one another and wrestle each other to the ground....money well spent! But on the last day I was able to capture some shots of them doing what they were instructed to do...for the most part.
Before the last class begins...
Jason running the field.

Carson, watch where you're going....

Carson with some high kicks.

Huddled around their British coach.

Playing a "simon says" sort of game...

Yes, there was one girl in the group....and she was a tough little cookie!

One final group picture after receiving their t-shirts.

More Jackson....4 1/2 months

Jackson continues to be a very content and happy baby at 4+ months. He enjoys laying on his activity mat reaching for the hanging toys and kicking his feet around.
And his smiles let you know just how happy he is.

Here he is posing at 4 1/2 months in a 6 month outfit that's nearly too small. /sigh/

And Carson continues to adore his baby brother more than ever. He can never get enough squeezes and hugs in. And Jackson is usually okay with it all.

One of his first times in the super saucer....seems to enjoy it.
And a precious video of Carson and Jackson....Jackson is attempting to nurse while Carson sings a song to him.
